Extend Collapse WHAT IS CMYK? WHY SHOULDN'T THE FILE BE IN RGB?

CMYK regards basic colours used in commercial print:

  • Cyan
  • Magenta
  • Yellow
  • BlacK or Key Colour.
In case of uploading file in RGB colour space, a warning will be displayed during Preflight procedure, yet the colour space will be converted to CMYK according to ISO, in pursuance to ISO Euroscale coated or uncoated.

Preflight is an automatic inspection of uploaded graphic files regarding their compliance with technical requirements for commercial print. It is a part of automated Workflow system, which allows to avoid potential errors and possible complaints at the stage of uploading files to our printery.
Files are checked for:

  • compliance of format with the order
  • compliance of page count with the order
  • quality of photos and objects in a file
  • availability of fonts and their completeness
  • sufficient resolution for print
  • colour set: CMYK and maximum TVS
